Welcome to the WorkNow Kentucky employment program!  This program puts unemployed and underemployed parents and youth age 16 - 24 into good jobs, and pays the cost of their wages through September 18, 2010.

Who is eligible to be a WorkNow Kentucky employee?
Frequently Asked Questions

Unemployed and underemployed Kentucky parents and youth age 16 – 24 are potentially eligible for the program if countable household income in the past month was less than or equal to 200% of the federal poverty level.  If you are K-TAP participant, you are eligible for the program. The table below shows the maximum income you can earn in a month and be eligible for the program.

Add $624.00 for each family member over eight.

 

To enroll, you must:

  • Be a resident of Kentucky

  • Be a US citizen or qualified alien

  • Be a parent of at least one child under age 18 who resides with you; or

  • Be a youth between 16 and 24 and reside with your parent(s) or caretaker relative

What kinds of jobs are available?

There are a wide range of job types available to participants through the WorkNow Kentucky program.  Eligible participants will complete a work registration that includes an assessment of their job experience, job readiness, and will then be assigned to jobs with any of the three types of business organizations:

  • Public (state and local government)

  • Private Business/Industry

  •  Non-profit Agency

The employers may include schools, college, technical schools, for non-profit businesses such as food services, construction, retail, health-care, to name just a few.

Participants will be served on a first -come, first-serve basis and jobs are limited!
